BookVoyager is operated by the Department of Language and Literacy Education at the University of British Columbia.
1. Acceptance of Terms
By creating an account or using BookVoyager (“the Service”), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, please do not access or use the Service.
2. Description of Service
BookVoyager is a multilingual reading platform developed by the Department of Language and Literacy Education at the University of British Columbia. The Service allows users to upload storybooks, read them in multiple languages with synchronized audio, and access features such as comprehension checks and progress tracking for educational and research purposes.
3. Acceptable Use
You agree to use BookVoyager only for lawful purposes and in accordance with these Terms and applicable laws. You must not upload content that infringes copyright or other intellectual property rights, is defamatory, harmful, or otherwise violates the rights of others. The University of British Columbia reserves the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms.
4. Intellectual Property
The BookVoyager platform and its underlying technology are owned by the University of British Columbia. Content you upload remains your responsibility; you represent that you have the right to upload such content. By uploading content, you grant UBC a limited license to store, process, and display it for the purposes of providing the Service.
5. Limitation of Liability
The Service is provided “as is.” The University of British Columbia does not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted or error-free. To the extent permitted by law, UBC shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Service.
6. Modifications
We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be indicated by a new version number. Your continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
